How Iron Base started
Iron Base was started by Adil and Jason, two friends who met playing football together while at college. Somewhere between matches they got talking about work, and it turned out they had the same story: both were working as security staff while studying, picking up shifts on top of coursework because they needed to support themselves.
That kind of start teaches you things a classroom can't. Long nights, difficult situations, and learning fast how to read people and stay calm under pressure. They both came up the hard way, and it shaped how they think about security work.
It's not about being the biggest or loudest person in the room. It's about treating people with respect, staying switched on, and knowing when and how to step in.
That's the standard Iron Base is built on. The same approach the founders learned on the job: fair, calm, reliable, and ready when it matters.
The standard we hold ourselves to
Iron Base was set up to bring the same standard of calm, respectful, reliable security to venues and businesses that Adil and Jason wanted to see when they were starting out. Day to day, that means a few clear things.
Proper licensing, no exceptions. Every operative holds a valid SIA licence for their role. This is a non-negotiable, not a box-ticking exercise.
Fair treatment of staff and the public. We only send people we'd want working alongside us. That means people who treat others with basic respect, whether that's a nervous first-timer being turned away at the door or a long-standing regular.
Staff who can handle themselves without being heavy-handed. Good security is mostly invisible. The job is to prevent things, not escalate them. Our operatives understand this and are trained to act accordingly.
Reliability. If we've said we'll be there, we'll be there. If something changes, we communicate early. We take that seriously because we know how much it matters.
Where we're headed
Iron Base is a new company, and we're building it carefully. That means growing the team at a pace that lets us maintain the standard we've set, expanding the training side as more people look to us for qualifications, and working towards accreditations like the SIA's Approved Contractor Scheme that give our clients additional assurance.
We're proud of where we've started. We're even more interested in what we're building towards.
