Iron Base training courses are delivered by experienced instructors and lead to qualifications accredited by well-established awarding bodies including Highfield, BIIAB/iEMS, Pearson, NCFE, SFJ Awards, ProQual and NOCN.

Whether you want to work as a door supervisor, a static guard or in CCTV monitoring, you need the right SIA licence. Our courses are designed to get you there, properly prepared and not just through the door with a piece of paper.

SIA Door Supervisor Licence Training

Leads to: SIA Door Supervisor Licence · Accredited by Highfield / BIIAB

The required qualification for anyone working the door at a licensed venue. Covers physical intervention, conflict management, law and legislation, first aid and licensing law. Typically delivered over several weeks combining classroom and practical sessions.

SIA Security Guarding Licence Training

Leads to: SIA Security Guarding Licence · Accredited by Highfield / NCFE

Required for static guard roles in retail, offices, warehouses and other commercial premises. Covers site security, access control, emergency procedures, communication skills and legal responsibilities.

SIA CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) Licence Training

Leads to: SIA CCTV Licence · Accredited by SFJ Awards / Highfield

For operatives monitoring public-facing CCTV systems. Covers legal frameworks including the Data Protection Act, CCTV monitoring techniques, incident recording and working with law enforcement.

Conflict Management Training

Award in Conflict Management · Accredited by Highfield / NCFE / ProQual

Standalone course in de-escalation and communication skills. Suitable for security staff, retail workers, healthcare staff or anyone in a public-facing role who may deal with difficult or confrontational situations.

Physical Intervention Skills Training

Award in Physical Intervention · Accredited by BIIAB / SFJ Awards / NOCN

Covers safe, legal and proportionate techniques for managing physical situations. Often taken alongside the Door Supervisor course or as a standalone refresher for existing security staff. Meets industry standards for use-of-force training.

Emergency First Aid at Work

EFAW / First Aid at Work Certificate · Accredited by Highfield / Pearson / NCFE

One-day course covering CPR, defibrillator use, choking, bleeding, shock and unconsciousness. Required for many security roles and widely respected across all industries. Full First Aid at Work (3-day) also available on request.

Fire Marshal / Fire Warden Training

Award in Fire Safety · Accredited by Highfield / NOCN / Pearson

Half-day to full-day course covering fire legislation, risk assessment, evacuation procedures and fire extinguisher use. A legal requirement for designated fire marshals in the workplace. Relevant for security staff in any venue or premises role.

Starting out, or adding to your qualifications

Our courses are open to anyone who wants to work in the security industry or add to their existing credentials. You don't need experience to start – the courses are designed to take you from scratch to qualified.

Note: SIA licence applications are made directly to the Security Industry Authority after completing the relevant course. Iron Base delivers the training; the SIA issues the licence following their own checks.
